Here are a few frequently asked questions about co-ops!

What is a Co-op?

A co-op (short for cooperative) is voluntarily owned by the people who use it, and operated for the benefit of its members.

Why should I shop there?

Prioritize people and community by supporting local producers and give more money back to the local economy.  Find products aligned with your values and needs!

Do I have to be a member to shop?

Everyone is welcome to shop at the co-op!

Why should I become a member?

Because it's a really cool community-built project! The best part about being a member is you get to be a part of something larger than yourself. You also get to participate in decision making and share store profits.

How is it different from a regular grocery store?

A co-op puts money back into the business, benefiting the people who supply, work, and shop there.  A co-op can focus on ethical sourcing, community support, and sustainability, instead of focusing on maximizing profit for owners and shareholders like a big chain store.

How does membership work?

Please stay tuned as we work on all these details, but essentially there will be a Joining Fee, with payment options. You can always terminate your membership if you so choose. Many more details to come!

How is the co-op governed?

The co-op is governed by the members. Members will elect a board of directors and chair positions (President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary). The board represents members in all ways.
