To answer your burning question, YES! Members get perks.
Members get special sales. You get ownership. You get a vote. You get the satisfaction of saying, “Actually, I co-own my grocery store.”
But honestly?
That’s not the biggest benefit.
The biggest benefit of becoming a member of the Farmington Food Co-op is this:
You get to be part of something bigger than a grocery store.
A locally owned grocery store doesn’t just happen. It exists because neighbors decide it matters. It exists because people say:
We want healthy food access here.
We want to support Maine farmers and producers.
We want a vibrant downtown.
We want food dollars to circulate locally.
We want decisions made by people who live here.
Membership is how you raise your hand and say: “I’m in.”
And yes. There are actual perks. :)
We’ll still give you member-only specials. We’ll still send you updates. We’ll still do fun events and gatherings.
But those are just the icing.
The cake is community ownership.
Becoming a member of the Farmington Food Co-op isn’t about getting a deal.
It’s about keeping something essential — and local — strong.
If you believe rural communities thrive when we invest in them together, membership is one very tangible way to do that.
And we think that’s pretty cool.
